I just finished watching, Akeelah and the Bee, Dead Poet’s Society, and Dangerous Minds for my Education in a Pluralistic Society class. I’m going to have to write a 7-10 page “Cultural Ethnography Paper” in which I have to apply the Vega model to explore the interrelation between individuals, culture, and educational institutions. Sounds like a good time, right? I’m going to fight that cynical side of me that is telling me that no amount of paper writing will ever prepare me for the classroom and just try to get as much as I can out of this assignment. At least I had an excuse to watch some pretty good movies?Now to figure out what the Vega model is…
