Turns out there aren’t many teaching jobs in the southeast Michigan region, who would have thought?
I have completely struck out on finding a full-time job before school starts. The frustrating thing is that there are obviously a ton of out-of-work teachers who are trying to sub. I am having an incredibly hard time securing subbing positions– they get snapped up so quickly! I’m subbing for the first time on Tuesday (at my old high school). I’m hoping once some of my old teachers see me in the building they will offer to send some subbing jobs my way. In a perfect world, some kind of long-term subbing position would open up.
I’m trying to stay positive and keep my eyes open for any type of opportunity, even if it isn’t exactly what I’m looking for.
