I hope it doesn’t seem like I’m flaking out on you guys on purpose. Monday and Tuesday were definitely unplanned absences. However, today and Friday I have had planned for a long time to attend the OCSS (Ohio Council for the Social Studies) conference in Columbus. So don’t worry, I’m not playing hooky 
Summary: Today and tomorrow you will be watching a documentary made by Lt. Governor Lee Fisher’s son during the 2006 gubernatorial election. While obviously heavily partisan, I think it gives an interesting inside look at how campaigns work and how they affect the families of the candidates. Plus, being Ohioans, this ties directly to you.
Please note that I’m not making you take notes during this movie. HOWEVER, you will be expected to write about it at a later date, so be sure to pay attention. I will ask the substitute to simply write down the names of anybody who falls asleep and I will have a fun consequence for the entire class if I get a long list.
